On September 21, BAIC Group and Shandong Heavy Industry Group held a strategic cooperation agreement signing ceremony at the BAIC R&D Center. During the ceremony, BAIC FOTON Motor Co., Ltd. (“BAIC FOTON”) and WEICHAI Power Co., Ltd. (“WEICHAI Power”) signed a dedicated strategic cooperation agreement.

The signing ceremony was attended by Zhang Jianyong, Secretary of the CPC Committee and Chairman of BAIC Group; Chang Rui, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee and General Manager of BAIC Group, and Chairman of BAIC FOTON; Lu Zhenghua, Secretary of the CPC Committee and General Manager of BAIC FOTON; and Cui Shipeng, Vice President of BAIC FOTON. Also in attendance were Wang Zhijian, Secretary of the CPC Committee and Chairman of Shandong Heavy Industry Group; Ma Changhai, Member of the CPC Committee and Deputy General Manager of Shandong Heavy Industry Group, and Secretary of the CPC Committee and Chairman of WEICHAI Group; Wang Decheng, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee and Vice Chairman of WEICHAI Group, and Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee and General Manager of WEICHAI Power; and Li Pengcheng, Member of the CPC Committee of WEICHAI Group, and Member of the CPC Committee and Deputy General Manager of WEICHAI Power.

Under the agreement, BAIC FOTON and WEICHAI Power will build on their extensive industry experience and complementary strengths to deepen practical cooperation across key areas, including core component supply and coordination, joint development of new energy products, and the integration of intelligent and connected technologies. Through resource sharing, complementary capabilities, joint technology development, and market collaboration, the two companies will further strengthen coordination between vehicle manufacturing and the core powertrain value chain, enhance product competitiveness, improve cost efficiency and operational performance, and create mutually beneficial value for both parties.

The company has built extensive expertise across key areas including engines, transmissions, integrated vehicle powertrains, and new energy power systems.
