CP FOTON officially launched the eView Connect new energy van in Bangkok, Thailand recently. This is more than just a new product launch. Senior executives from CP Group and FOTON International, along with the first batch of customers, strategic partners, financial collaborators, nationwide dealers and local media attended the event, witnessing this important step of BAIC FOTON in advancing the electrification of commercial vehicles across Southeast Asia.

Striving for the 30@30 goals, we choose to be problem-solvers rather than bystanders.
The Thai government is pushing forward with green transformation. The '30@30' target set by the National Electric Vehicle Policy Committee — aiming for electric vehicles to account for 30% of total automotive production by 2030 — has become a key industry benchmark. There is growing demand for electrification in the logistics and transport sector, while notable challenges remain: adequacy of charging infrastructure, charging speed and overall operational efficiency.

To adapt to the local charging infrastructure in Thailand, the eView Connect is equipped with CATL's 3rd-generation liquid-cooled batteries. It supports 2C charging speed and offers two battery capacity options: 50.23 kWh and 66.67 kWh. The vehicle is compatible with both AC slow charging and DC fast charging, and the batteries come with a warranty of 8 years or 400,000 kilometers. Going forward, we will also explore a battery-swapping version to meet diverse operational needs. Built on a dedicated all-electric platform, the model features comprehensive upgrades in intelligent configurations and NVH performance. It effectively reduces noise and vibration, delivering a much more comfortable ride for urban delivery drivers.
Vehicles delivered to five enterprises — not just for display, but ready for real-world operation.
Five eView Connect vehicles were showcased side by side at the launch event. Through product presentations, scenario demonstrations and user case sharing, BAIC FOTON presented the full picture of the model's design philosophy and real-world applications. Five enterprises from diverse industries took delivery of the first batch of vehicles on site, including a global logistics leader, an IT retailer, a car rental service provider, a commercial retail platform and an investment institution. They came to take possession of the vehicles rather than just viewing exhibits. More than a display model, eView Connect serves as a practical workhorse operating across cities, industrial parks and warehouses throughout Thailand.

Chen Demao, President of CP FOTON, stated: 'eView Connect is developed to address the pain points and needs of transport operators. It embodies BAIC FOTON's years of technological expertise in electric commercial vehicles and in-depth insights into the Thai market.'

Partnering with Spark EV and Huawei: Vehicle sales are just the beginning, while ecosystem development takes center stage.
Beyond the product launch, CP FOTON signed strategic cooperation memorandums with two key partners at the event.
Partnership with Spark EV: As one of Thailand's fastest-growing charging network operators with an extensive ultra-fast charging station footprint, Spark EV features an operational network combining full liquid-cooled ultra-fast charging, fuel station hubs and nationwide coverage within 50 kilometers. The two parties will jointly develop charging stations catering to medium and heavy-duty commercial vehicles for trunk logistics routes.
·
·
In-depth collaboration with Huawei: We adopt Huawei's proven ultra-fast charging technologies. As a key strategic technology partner of Spark EV, Huawei has widely deployed its full liquid-cooled ultra-fast charging solutions across Bangkok, Pattaya, Chiang Mai and other areas in Thailand, actively supporting the country’s automotive electrification drive.
·

This partnership is about far more than just adding more charging stations. It enables users of BAIC FOTON's new energy commercial vehicles to enjoy ultra-fast charging along Thailand's major highways with the same convenience as refueling. This effectively eases range concerns for long-haul logistics operations and helps expand the application of electric commercial vehicles from urban distribution to inter-provincial transportation.
CP FOTON: A Pioneer of Localization in Sino-Thai Joint Ventures
CP FOTON is a joint venture established in 2019 by BAIC FOTON and Thailand's CP Group. It is also one of the earliest Chinese commercial vehicle enterprises to set up operations in Thailand. Combining FOTON's technical expertise and CP Group's extensive distribution networks, the two parties have focused on localised production and built a comprehensive commercial vehicle product line as well as manufacturing facilities. A number of new energy vehicle models have already been launched in Thailand. Going forward, the joint venture will continue to roll out a full range of new energy commercial vehicles, aiming to become a benchmark in technology and market performance within Thailand's commercial vehicle industry.

Taking Thailand as a hub to explore new opportunities in Asia-Pacific green logistics
The official launch of eView Connect in Thailand is more than a standalone product release. It represents a key milestone in BAIC FOTON's strategy of comprehensive international expansion and localized adaptation. Going forward, taking Thailand as a regional hub, BAIC FOTON will continue to optimize its one-stop service system covering vehicle sales, after-sales maintenance and spare parts supply. We will work with local partners to advance green and smart logistics, and support the low-carbon transformation of Thailand’s transportation industry.
