BAIC FOTON Makes Its Debut at the Paris Motor Show, Marking a New Chapter in the French Market

On October 12, the 2026 Paris Motor Show officially opened at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles. BAIC FOTON showcased its CAVAN C1 battery-electric van and eAUMARK battery-electric light-duty truck at Booth A10 in Hall 7.1, where it also announced its official entry into the French market. BAIC FOTON's decision to make its French market debut at the Paris Motor Show reflects its understanding of the evolving European commercial vehicle market. As the transition to electric commercial vehicles accelerates across Europe, France has emerged as one of the key markets with growing demand for logistics fleet renewal and electrification.

France is an important market in the global automotive industry, with stringent requirements for vehicle environmental performance, technical standards, and operational efficiency. BAIC FOTON’s entry into the French market is supported by its years of experience in commercial vehicle technology and its established global operations network. To date, BAIC FOTON has expanded into nearly 20 European markets, with a service network comprising more than 300 locations. The company has also established a European Technology Center and a parts distribution center in Bochum, Germany, enabling it to provide customers with localized technical support and reliable after-sales services.

Founded in 1898, the Paris Motor Show is one of the world’s longest-running international automotive exhibitions. Held every two years, it has long played an important role in the European automotive industry. In recent years, the transition to electric commercial vehicles has gained momentum across Europe. Many French cities have introduced low-emission zones (LEZs), with increasingly stringent restrictions on diesel-powered trucks entering urban areas. As a result, logistics operators are showing growing interest in transitioning to electric vehicles. Against this backdrop, the timing presents a valuable opportunity for BAIC FOTON to enter the French market and respond to evolving demand for sustainable transportation solutions.

The CAVAN C1 on display is a battery-electric vehicle from CAVAN, BAIC FOTON’s new energy vehicle brand, designed for urban delivery applications. With its battery pack positioned beneath the floor, the vehicle offers a cargo capacity of up to 8.4 cubic meters and a WLTP-rated driving range of 320 km. Its CATL lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery comes with a warranty of 8 years or 500,000 km. DC fast charging allows the battery to charge from 20% to 80% in approximately 35 minutes, helping meet the demands of daily delivery operations. L2+ advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) are also included as standard.

Also on display, the eAUMARK battery-electric light-duty truck is designed for urban and regional distribution. With a gross vehicle weight of 7.5 tonnes, it is equipped with a 100 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, offering a WLTP range of 180 km and a full charge in approximately one hour using DC fast charging. An air-suspension driver's seat, cabin noise levels kept below 65 dB, and the i-ADAS system featuring Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) and Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) are all designed to enhance comfort and safety in frequent-stop urban delivery operations.

As a commercial vehicle manufacturer that has ranked first in sales in China for 21 consecutive years, BAIC FOTON has expanded its presence to more than 140 countries and regions worldwide, with cumulative vehicle deliveries exceeding 13 million units. In the first eight months of 2026, BAIC FOTON exported 149,000 vehicles, representing a year-on-year increase of 44.3%. The company has also maintained its position as China's leading commercial vehicle exporter by volume for 15 consecutive years. As part of its strategic development plan, BAIC FOTON aims to establish local assembly operations in Europe by 2028, further strengthening its industrial presence and market development in the region.

Starting with the Paris Motor Show, BAIC FOTON will continue to embrace its “In Europe, For Europe” philosophy, working closely with partners to deliver high-quality green logistics solutions to customers in France and across Europe, while supporting the low-carbon transition of urban logistics throughout the region.
