Marking 828 | BAIC FOTON Ships 800 HeavyDuty Trucks to Africa

Recently, BAIC FOTON has achieved another breakthrough in direct sales to key largevolume clients for heavyduty trucks across the African market, with an order of 800 heavyduty trucks successfully shipped. Under a fullfleet delivery model, the total 800 units are being dispatched to Africa to support local crossborder logistics and trunkhaul transportation. This represents another landmark achievement of BAIC FOTON’s longterm engagement in Africa, and signals the brand’s strategic upgrade from pure vehicle sales to a provider of fleet operation solutions on the continent.

Africa stands as one of the world’s most promising markets for commercialvehicle growth. Boasting geographical advantages with access to multiple major ports, Southeast Africa serves as a core hub for crossborder logistics. Recognizing this strategic value, BAIC FOTON has carried out indepth local operations and systematic planning over the years, building Southeast Africa into a key node covering the broader region.

In terms of product performance, the AUMAN heavyduty trucks delivered in this batch are equipped with the ISG380 powertrain, supporting a gross vehicle weight of 56 tonnes and adapting to mixed road conditions including highways and dirt roads across Africa. Features such as the 700L largecapacity fuel tank and metal bumper are specially optimized for Africa’s hightemperature and rainy operating environment. Fitted with the dedicated CEM smart chip, each single unit enables coverage across the whole of Africa. Even in remote areas with no network signal, data can be restored automatically. The system provides full tracking of vehicle operating conditions, driving routes and fuel consumption, supporting refined fleet management and facilitating the market’s shift toward higherend solutions.

In terms of local operations, BAIC FOTON has built multiple assembly plants, service outlets, parts warehouses and training centers across Africa. Targeting key logistics corridors in Southeast Africa, BAIC FOTON has established inhouse parts warehouses in countries including South Africa, Tanzania and Zambia to enable fast parts allocation and ondemand supply, effectively addressing common industry pain points such as parts shortages and delayed maintenance support amid crossborder transportation. With South Africa serving as the core central training base, BAIC FOTON has setup multilevel training centers in key markets such as Tanzania and Ethiopia. Regular professional training courses covering technical repair, vehicle maintenance and driving standards are delivered to cultivate qualified automotive service talent. This helps deliver responsive aftersales support with timely local service.

From exportoriented vehicle sales to joint industrial collaboration, BAIC FOTON is leveraging intelligent Chinese manufacturing to support development across the African continent. August 28 marks the anniversary of BAIC FOTON. This crosscontinental order represents recognition of its longterm efforts in local markets and inspires BAIC FOTON to forge ahead with steady progress. At this new juncture, guided by its strategies of internationalization, newenergy transition and smart development, BAIC FOTON will further consolidate its footprint in Africa, refine its comprehensive industrial layout, strive to build a highlyregarded commercialvehicle brand in Africa, and open new chapters for ChinaAfrica industrial cooperation.
