On April 21, the 2026 Birmingham Commercial Vehicle Show (CV Show), one of Europe's leading events for the commercial vehicle industry, officially opened. BAIC FOTON, with its new energy light commercial vehicle CAVAN C1 Series, has made its debut in the UK market, earning widespread acclaim from numerous European customers.

As the world's first van built on a dedicated new energy platform, CAVAN C1 Series drew significant attention at the show. It supports 2.2C fast charging, delivering up to 100 km of range with just a 10-minute charge, and is equipped with an 11 kW interface, effectively expanding charging flexibility across different scenarios. In terms of efficiency, the vehicle offers a WLTC range of up to 320 km, with energy consumption as low as 20.4 kWh per 100 km, reducing CO₂ emissions by approximately 12 tons annually based on typical operating mileage. For cargo capacity, CAVAN C1 Series is available with 2,800 mm and 3,100 mm wheelbase options. The cargo area features a maximum internal height of 1,620 mm and width of 1,670 mm, meeting the diverse needs of commercial applications.
The vehicle complies with the EU GSR2 safety regulations, features an intelligent driving system at L2+ level, integrates 25 advanced driver-assistance functions, and allows selection of Eco, Power, or Adaptive driving modes depending on road conditions such as urban areas or mountainous terrain, making the vehicle a continuously evolving companion.. The L2+ system provides reliable assistance during highway cruising and in complex European urban traffic, while the Adaptive mode adapts well to Europe's diverse road conditions and driving habits, effectively improving logistics efficiency and driving safety.

In terms of safety and quality, the CAVAN C1 Series meets EU and UK regulations, with over 63% of the body made from high-strength steel. It has undergone full-scenario reliability testing, covering extreme conditions such as extreme cold, high heat, high humidity, mountainous terrain, and high-speed driving, ensuring stable and reliable performance across the diverse climates and road conditions of Europe. Additionally, CAVAN C1 Series offers three cargo volume options—6.6m², 7.4m², and 8.4m²—with battery capacities ranging from 50.23kWh to 66.67kWh, precisely addressing diverse needs for last-mile urban delivery and intercity logistics in Europe.

The debut at the Birmingham Commercial Vehicle Show marks the official entry of FOTON's light commercial vehicles into the UK market, further expanding its electrification footprint across Europe. Currently, FOTON's electric products are already in stable operation in markets such as Italy, Germany, and Malta. This milestone reflects BAIC FOTON's broader progress in advancing global green mobility. Amid the worldwide decarbonization trend, the company has independently developed and mastered core 'three-electric' technologies—covering batteries, motors, and electronic control systems—while advancing multiple new energy pathways, including pure electric, hybrid, and hydrogen fuel cell. With a full lineup of commercial vehicles, BAIC FOTON is accelerating the green transformation of the global logistics and transportation industry, continuously redefining the speed of development and value standards for new energy commercial vehicles.

Looking ahead, BAIC FOTON will continue to strengthen technological innovation, injecting Chinese ingenuity and momentum into the global shift toward new energy, and writing a new chapter in the green transformation of commercial vehicles.
